It occurred to me that I had started writing a long story AND it's Camp NaNoWriMo month, so why not combine the two? 29,000 words later, I've completed my story. Unfortunately, my goal was 35,000 words and I would really like to hit it, so I've a bit more work to do. (Actually, I'd like to hit 40,000, but I really don't think I can stretch it that far.) It's been nice to have a long story to be passionate about writing (to the point where I'm not even interested in playing Guild Wars 2; I'd rather be writing); I've been doing 2000-5000 words per day and I think it came out pretty good. On the other hand, it's another personal story, so I won't be posting it here.
Once I get it to wordcount, I have another story that I placed on the backburner during this month that I'll be getting back to. That one is something I'll be sharing when I finish it, and if it comes out anywhere near what I have envisioned in mah braims, it should be fun. A friend on deviantArt also wrote to me and said, "I had this great idea for a story, and it seems to be your style, so here!" She was right - the idea was completely in my style, so I'm eager to explore it, though I've already tweaked the idea in my mind to something that she's not expecting.
In the meantime, work has completely blown up in the last two days. We were doing so well, too! I'm not going to go into detail, because it would just be a whine, but here I am at work on a Saturday, doing a whole bunch of "let's try to stuff this stuff in to try to save our jobs" kinds of things. At least there's comfort in the fact that it's a lot more pleasant to work on the weekends, since with only about four of us in the office, I'm not continually interrupted in my work by my coworkers. I can sit here, get actual work done, and listen to Doctor Who music all day. If the other people would leave, I could put on an episode for background noise. (Well, except that Amazon Prime doesn't carry the episodes for free streaming anymore. *sob*)
