Writing meme

I just cannot resist these.

Please give me a number or two (or more! I like talking too much.) from the list below and I'll answer the question. I'll warn you right now that I probably can't answer #6 or #21, because I don't have any idea what hurt/comfort really means and I normally don't write pairings.

My AO3 for reference.

1. How did you come up with the title to [insert fic]?
2. Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
3. What character do you identify with most?
4. Is there a song or a playlist to associate with [insert fic]?
5. If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it be about?
6. Care to share a favorite hurt/comfort fic?
7. Care to share a favorite crack fic?
8. How would you describe your style?
9. Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
10. Write or describe an alternative ending to [insert fic].
11. What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?
12. What's the weirdest AU you've ever come up with?
13. Got any premises on the back burner that you'd care to share?
14. Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?
15. How do you begin a story--with the plot, or the characters?
16. Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an "architect" or a "gardener"? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?)
17. Do you have any discarded scenes/storylines/projects?
18. Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
19. Any fandom tropes you can't resist?
20. Any fandom tropes you can't stand?
21. A pairing you might like to write for, but haven't tried yet.
22. A secondary (or underrated) character you want to see more of in fic?
23. Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?
24. A character you enjoy making suffer.
25. A character you want to protect.
26. Major character death--do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can't tolerate?

And hurt/comfort is just one of those fanfic trope names for a thing that's going to occur at some point in any long story, but really, all it means is: in the fic someone is in some way hurt, injured or upset whether physically or emotionally (as minor or major as you wish) and someone else provides some level of comfort/first aid/care/cheering up. Being fanfic, this may be all some fics consist of & can get to silly levels. But any fic with any such element would reasonably count! When it's done well, I have a weakness for it - but I have an flist full of people who have apparently been scarred by terrible OOC h/c fic in some of their fandoms. But, to be honest, that's just fandom, isn't it? Give it a trope, it'll give you amazing fic and the most terrible drivel you ever saw!

Ah, so that's what that is. Hm. I cannot imagine a story with a single purpose of being hurt/comfort and nothing else, but then that's just not my writing style. As you note, yes, I have written something that would be considered hurt/comfort but it was a small part of a larger fic (one person is forced to make the decision to kill someone, and the other person helps him deal with it). I can't think of a second instance. That's about as far as I could answer that meme question.

Let's see - guilty pleasures. Well, for reading, I love reading Doctor/Donna ship fics. And I do love reading good adult scenes, though they have to be good and they have to be part of a larger story, not just PWP.

As far as writing goes, I do love powers, which might be apparent given the story I'm currently in the middle of posting. It's been difficult to indulge in this, since DW limits its powers severely - it isn't about using powers to save the day, and in fact is really about the Doctor not using his powers at all. Blue Rain has been a bit of a catharsis for me, and I do have a plan to write out of the DW fandom a little bit more to do this, but I'll be coming back into canon soon.

Ah, interesting, thanks! I hadn't known about the powers.

Well, we all have different tastes - which is as well, or life would be boring! I don't tend to think about looking for tropes of any kind, but when I analyse what I like and what I write, there's a lot of h/c underlaid in all of it, although I'd hope not gratuitous. Mostly. And when I think that I've been ill on and off all my life, I suppose it's inevitable that it would come out in fics and so on. (Whereas super powers is so not my trope!)

In that case, I can ask for #21 but slightly alter it by asking which two characters would you like to put in a fic together.

And can I be cheeky ask for a second question? If so # 22, please.

Sure, you can choose as many as you like!

21: Well, ignoring my penchant for multi-Doctor stories, I would love to try something with Nine and Donna, two very strong opposing forces that, when they finally find common ground, would be a force to be reckoned with. Barring that, I'd love to see Leela with a modern Doctor, again preferably Nine.

22: Martha Martha Martha Martha! Such a strong female character, though saddled with an unfortunate unrequited love subplot. I'd love to see more stories that capitalize on her high intelligence, courage, compassion, and ambitious nature. And there's one other character who I'd like more backstory on: Soren, from "Time Reaver". Similarly, I'd like to see more of Drax from "The Armageddon Factor".
