We went to LV to hang out for a few days with a couple that we met on our old MMO game. We had started playing the game in 1999, and in about 2001 or 2002, joined the monarchy (clan) run by the husband, and stayed with them until we finally left the game in 2012. Yes, we played the game for thirteen years. We made a number of really good friends from that game, and we've met up with them in LV a few times, but we haven't seen this couple for at least six years (my husband says ten years, but I don't think it's been quite that long).
Anyway, a few months ago, they FBed us and asked if we wanted to go to LV this year, so of course we immediately said yes - we'd been trying to meet up with them, but they're always really busy. It finally worked out, and it was great. I'd love to say that we ran around and parties all over the place, but you know, that's just not our style - either ours or theirs. We walked around the Strip, gambled a little (well, me and the husband - our spouses don't gamble - played pai gow poker a few times), and mostly just chatted. We did go to see Penn & Teller, which was fantastic, but beyond that, we did nothing special and it was the best.
We reminisced good old days back in our MMO, which was wonderful. It's hard to just reminisce with my husband, because we basically have the same memories of things with the same viewpoints. It was nice hearing our friends' sides of things and the things that they remember fondly.
I'm really hoping we get to do this again soon (probably in a couple of years; as I said, it's so hard to fit into their schedule). It's been way too long since the last time.
