They're gonna make us wait a year for the next season? Oh, my, what am I going to do with that?

Yup! I don't mind, though - to me, it's better than having to suffer through two more seasons of Moffat. I'm just glad that it's not jeopardizing Broadchurch series 3, though it does imply that there won't be a series 4 (or if there is, it won't be Chibnall writing it).

I wonder if Moffat's last season is going to go back to being a full thirteen episodes? The last I heard, the season that was planned for 2016 was going to be only six, as Capaldi wanted time to do other things this year.

It sounds almost too good to be true. I'm sure I'll wake up any second!
Well, the "no Doctor Who except the special" part doesn't sound good. But I'm a Sherlockian, I'm used to waiting ;)

I had heard Moffat was looking for a replacement, but I didn't expect him to 1) find one so soon and 2) stick around for only one more year. I fully expected him to continue for two to three more.

I never minded Moffat but I'm a HUGE fan of Broadchurch so I know DW will be in good hands. :)
